On Sunday, 27 April 2025, ten runners will take on the TCS London Marathon to raise funds for the Lloyd Cowan Bursary—supporting young athletes and coaches across the UK to access the opportunities they need to thrive in track and field.
From first-time marathoners to experienced runners, each of them is running to make a difference. We cannot thank them enough.
Holly Mellor – A former track and cross-country runner with Notts AC who stopped running at the age of 16 and rediscovered her love for distance at university. Holly’s running her first-ever marathon for the Lloyd Cowan Bursary to “support young athletes so that they have everything they need to reach their full potential.”

Chantal Anderson – Began running in June 2024 and got the bug, completing 5ks, 10ks and a half marathon by the end of the year. Chantal says: “I’m particularly eager to run for the Lloyd Cowan Bursary because of the organisation’s dedication to supporting the future of track and field athletes.”

Corina Eremia – New to running but fully committed to the cause. Corina is embracing the London Marathon as a “physical and personal challenge.” For her, running for a cause makes every mile more meaningful. She’s raising funds with support from her ROC UP running group and broader network.

John Finlay – This 10x marathon veteran. is a sports lawyer working with many athletes at the start of their careers. John was inspired to help after hearing about the “amazing work being done by the Lloyd Cowan Bursary.”

Charlotte Clifford – A long-distance regular is raising funds through raffles, car washes and community events. “It’s a brilliant cause which is so important for athletes to be able to fulfil their potential and dreams.”

Chris Brown – the broadcaster, athletics podcaster, and huge sports fan is running his first marathon. “Getting in the main draw ballot meant I could choose who I wanted to run for. As an Athletics fan, I think the Lloyd Cowan Bursary made a lot of sense. One of Britain’s finest coaches has left a legacy to pass on to the next generation of athletes and coaches.”

We are also grateful to our four other #TeamLCB marathoners, running to help more athletes and coaches access vital funding and support — and we wish a swift recovery to Mike Williamson, who is injured but has fundraised for us and plans to run for #TeamLCB next year.
